L’editore Focus Home Interactive ha annunciato che Insurgency: Sandstorm è stato posticipato al 12 dicembre 2018. Nonostante il feedback positivo dei giocatori dalla recente versione beta del gioco, lo sviluppatore New World Interactive vuole più tempo per migliorare e perfezionare il proprio gioco. Il pre-ordine in corso della Beta per Insurgency: Sandstorm è stato esteso a causa di questo ritardo in modo che la community possa continuare a godersi il gioco fino al rilascio. Due hotfix e una grande patch sono stati implementati dal rilascio della beta grazie al feedback della community.
Negli ultimi mesi, la community dedicata a Insurgency: Sandstorm si è goduta il gameplay intenso e unico pieno di azione e ha fornito un prezioso feedback in massa. Mentre questi beta test hanno confermato l’alta qualità del gameplay, la decisione di ritardare il rilascio è una risposta diretta al feedback tecnico, e il desiderio di perfezionare il gioco con contenuti più lucidi e prestazioni più elevate su PC.
New World Interactive ha inoltre dettagliato i loro piani su ciò che faranno per migliorare il gioco a causa di questo ritardo, con i loro principali obiettivi:
- Eseguire l’upgrade a Unreal Engine 4.20 e continuare ad ottimizzarlo
- Migliorare i modelli dei personaggi, le trame e le animazioni nel gioco
- Migliorare l’esperienza “mirata” per le impostazioni dell’ambito di alta e bassa qualità
- Migliorare il livello visivo, il gameplay e l’ottimizzazione
- Aggiungere più varianti di articoli cosmetici e un nuovo tipo di tatuaggio cosmetico dell’avambraccio che può anche essere visto in prima persona
- Espandere le opzioni del server di gioco per includere un browser del server, il supporto del server gestito dalla comunità e un sistema di giochi personalizzato che consente agli utenti di configurare appositamente i giochi ospitati dall’infrastruttura del server.
- diminure i bug, problemi tecnici, incoerenze visive e altri problemi.
